Winding through festivals, forests, and familiar faces, this collection of 120mm photographs captures the spontaneous beauty of travel—both at home and abroad—through the dreamy lens of the Diana F+. As my sole camera while studing abroad, it documented everything from the electric energy of Maastricht’s 11/11 festival to the quiet canal streets of Rotterdam. But its adventures didn’t stop there. I’ve taken this light, pocketable camera on road trips, ski days, hot spring excursions, and desert getaways, capturing landscapes and friendships with its signature mix of light leaks, happy accidents, and raw nostalgia—the kind of fleeting magic that only film can hold.

BEAUTIFUL HELL

Locations:
  1. Newport Beach, CA

Newport Beach might not have LA’s infamous grit, but the “beautiful hell” paradox still lingers just beneath its sun-drenched surface. With my Diana F+ and a roll of Lomography color film, I set out to capture that tension—the dreamy allure of the Pacific interrupted by endless parking lots, traffic-clogged coastlines, and the quiet absurdity of paradise paved over. The result? A hazy collision where beauty and chaos don’t just coexist—they define each other, etched into the grain of 120mm film.
